Rudra means Shiva

“ Rutam – Dukham, dravyati – nashyatiti rudra: ’’

This means that Lord Shiva takes away all the problems and ward of troubles.

Rudrabhishek is done with proper procedure and customs for the fulfillment of wishes. On special occasion or on Shivratri or on a Monday, Shivling is given a holy bath with cow milk, curd, ghee, honey and sugar along with mantras. The all five combined for the holy bath is called ‘Panchamrit’.

The customary abhishek of Shivling can help in fulfillment of desires. Brahma, the creator of universe, says that Lord Shiva himself accepts the offerings if the puja and rudrabhishek is performed with complete heart and soul.

Yajna refers to worship and offerings made to the God with rituals. Offerings along with mantras are made to the God in the sacred fire. The ritual is said to purify the soul from within and remove negativity while attracting the positive vibes. It directly connects you to the God.
